Praxis Work
This week I continued writing the training documentation for the work that I do. Since it tells how to access confidential information, I won’t be posting the docs, but I will do updates on how much I’ve done. So far it’s three sheets detailing the specifics of entering tickets during the daily work.
Praxis Reading
This week we started Shoe Dog by Phil Night, the creator of Nike. Phil didn’t know what he wanted to do, who he was, or who he could be. So he took a trip around the world. An idea that he’d had while studying for his MBA stuck with him on his travels, and he found himself in Japan, sitting across from the executives of a shoe company, pitching them on expanding their market into the U.S. through his brand, Blue Ribbon.
Phil loved running. It was a passion he’d had since high school and one he carried into adulthood. His other passion was for running shoes, something he’d inherited from a former coach turned business partner. Together they worked to bring cheap Japanese running shoes to the American market.
Youth Group Teaching
1This week we went over Habit 4: Think Win-Win. The lesson introduces the concept of Think Win-Win, which is an attitude toward life emphasizing mutual success and collaboration. This approach is foundational for positive relationships. Life isn't solely about competition but also about cooperation and relationships.
The lesson explored various attitudes, including Win-Lose, Lose-Win, Lose-Lose, and Win-Win, through anecdotes and scenarios. Win-Lose is depicted as a competitive mindset, Lose-Win as a submissive, people-pleasing approach, and Lose-Lose as a destructive, mutually harmful dynamic. Win-Win is presented as an all-encompassing mindset that fosters cooperation, empathy, and abundance. The speaker encourages the audience to think beyond competition and embrace a Win-Win attitude, highlighting its potential to create positive, fulfilling relationships and a sense of abundance.
The lesson emphasized the importance of personal security, avoiding comparisons, and the need to win the private victory before fostering a Win-Win mindset. Additionally, the concept of "Win-Win or No Deal" is introduced as a strategy for situations where a mutually beneficial solution cannot be found. The speaker concludes by noting the contagious nature of the Win-Win spirit and its ability to bring about positive changes, leaving the audience with a challenge to incorporate small steps towards adopting a Win-Win mindset in their lives.
Art of the Week
I realized right after I hit send, that I forgot to include the art last week, so this week it’s the highlights from both!

What’s in the Works
This weekend my DnD group is meeting for a long overdue gaming session. We left off in the middle of a citywide civil war, with their group at the heart of the conflict. I love being the Gamemaker for our group, it’s always so much fun to see what they come up with.
That’s it for this week, thank you so much for reading!
Lesson inspired by Sean Coney’s book–The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens, and summarized by ChatGPT.
